RE: 2024 Northern California Truck Camper Rally

Robert Lynn and I would love to attend the rally as we did last April. We will probably string along some after rally travel as well. Had a great time previously and look forward to seeing any familiar faces from last time. Hopefully the lakes will be a bit fuller with the rain we are supposed to get with the El Nino this winter, we'll see. Take care.

RE: 2006 AF 990 odd slide issue

What year is your camper? I have a 2019 990. Is there someplace you need me to look for some nameplate info? If you called Northwood did you ask for the service dept? The sales guy is not the go to guy. Call service and ask for Justin. he's good in my experience.

RE: PSA Annoucement Regarding Spilled Beer.....

Guess I need to keep the beer in the cab instead of the camper? What could go wrong there?

RE: Soft Start

I also have the micro air unit on my 9k AC unit on my AF990. Works fine even when running my 2k generator.

RE: Bigfoot 2500 Underbelly, Thoughts and Pics

In for a penny in for a pound. Yeah I think most properly supported tanks are actually held in suspension above the bottom panel as that section is fairly lightweight and would not be able to support the full fill weight. Oh and thanks for the video amigo! I did end up adding the Weboost cell booster thanks to you guys at our stop in Wash, took the afternoon and it works great. Looking forward to hopefully next year.

RE: Replacement awning fabric for a 2012 Lance 855S camper

I haven't had to replace my rear awning like the one your referring to but I have had to replace the drivers side 9' pull out waning and also the slide topper cover. I always found what I needed from the Carefree of Colorado website. Just call their Ph# and speak to a tech their really helpful as to help figuring out exactly what you will need. Good luck.

RE: Turnbuckle advice

Ehh incorrect on the HJ not being spring loaded. I have had these "fastgun" style turnbuckles and they have internal springs on front and rear. Typically want about 1/4" of stretch when properly tensioned and set in place. Of course you can also lengthen and shorten overall length as required.

RE: Turnbuckle advice

I went with the lower priced Happyjack “fastgun” style turnbuckles. That being said I also went with the Torklift frame mount tie downs. They have worked out just fine and saved a couple bucks too.

RE: Suggestion for trip to desert southwest

TenOC x 2. Did the same route a couple of years ago I think in April. Arches was CROWDED so we hung out in the BLM areas to the south of the Arches and north of Moab. Lots of mountain bike areas. Meteor crater was so so. Petrified forest is more like a petrified field in a few places to access, Newspaper rock was ok. Bears Ear mts are a good place to get lost in, all boondocking and fun trails to explore. Good luck and be safe on your “postponed” adventure.
